Hoy dirijo Zero Seven Nine, un portafolio de empresas en marketing, consultoría, ecommerce y medios digitales, donde utilizo IA para automatizar operaciones, acelerar decisiones y aumentar la capacidad de mis equipos. Today I run Zero Seven Nine, a portfolio of companies in marketing, consulting, ecommerce, and digital media, where I use AI to automate operations, speed up decisions, and increase my teams' capacity.

A lo largo de mi carrera, mi agencia ha manejado más de $560 millones de dólares en publicidad, y he trabajado en campañas para marcas como F1, Disney, Adidas y Pepsi, entre otras. Throughout my career, my agency has managed over $560 million in advertising, and I've worked on campaigns for brands like F1, Disney, Adidas, and Pepsi, among others.

Pero yo no llegué a la inteligencia artificial desde la tecnología. But I didn't arrive at artificial intelligence through technology.

Llegué desde los negocios. I arrived through business.

A los 14 años me mudé de Ciudad de México a Estados Unidos sin hablar una sola palabra de inglés. No tenía un gran plan. Tenía que adaptarme. At 14, I moved from Mexico City to the United States without speaking a single word of English. I had no big plan. I had to adapt.

Durante esos años descubrí un podcast llamado Diggnation. Eran dos tipos hablando de tecnología, startups y emprendedores en Silicon Valley. Para mí fue como descubrir que existía otro mundo. During those years I discovered a podcast called Diggnation. It was two guys talking about technology, startups, and entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. For me it was like discovering that another world existed.

Uno donde no necesariamente tenías que seguir el camino tradicional de escuela, universidad, trabajo y jubilación. One where you didn't necessarily have to follow the traditional path of school, university, job, and retirement.

Podías crear algo tuyo. You could create something of your own.

Esa idea se me quedó grabada. That idea stuck with me.

Más adelante estudié Negocios Internacionales y Marketing. Mientras terminaba la universidad, me acerqué a uno de mis profesores, alguien que llevaba años enseñándome cómo construir negocios, y le pregunté cómo había sido lanzar el suyo. Later I studied International Business and Marketing. While finishing college, I approached one of my professors, someone who had spent years teaching me how to build businesses, and asked him what it had been like to launch his own.

Su respuesta me sorprendió. His answer surprised me.

Nunca había lanzado uno. He'd never launched one.

Era académico y había ayudado a otras personas a construir sus empresas, pero nunca había vivido personalmente el proceso de crear una desde cero. He was an academic and had helped other people build their companies, but he had never personally gone through the process of creating one from scratch.

Ese momento se convirtió en un recordatorio que ha definido gran parte de mi carrera: That moment became a reminder that has defined much of my career:

Hay una diferencia enorme entre hablar de algo y hacerlo de verdad. There's a huge difference between talking about something and actually doing it.

Yo decidí estar en el segundo grupo. I decided to be in the second group.

Empecé trabajando como freelancer de marketing. I started out as a marketing freelancer.

Poco a poco llegaron más clientes, más proyectos y más responsabilidad. Little by little, more clients, more projects, and more responsibility came in.

Sin darme cuenta, había construido una agencia. Without realizing it, I had built an agency.

La escalé. I scaled it.

Pero conforme crecía, también empecé a alejarme de lo que originalmente más me gustaba hacer: But as it grew, I also started drifting away from what I had originally loved doing most:

Crear cosas nuevas. Creating new things.

Así que empecé a experimentar en paralelo. So I started experimenting in parallel.

Una idea aquí. Otra allá. One idea here. Another there.

Cuando algo encontraba tracción, intentaba convertirlo en negocio. When something found traction, I tried to turn it into a business.

Mi mente nunca se ha quedado demasiado tiempo en un solo lugar. Tengo TDA, y durante mucho tiempo eso podía parecer caos. My mind has never stayed too long in one place. I have ADD, and for a long time that could look like chaos.

Con los años aprendí a convertirlo en otra cosa: Over the years I learned to turn it into something else:

Un motor para explorar, conectar ideas, experimentar y construir. An engine to explore, connect ideas, experiment, and build.

Esos experimentos eventualmente se convirtieron en un portafolio de empresas en marketing, ecommerce, medios digitales y otras inversiones. Those experiments eventually became a portfolio of companies in marketing, ecommerce, digital media, and other investments.

Entonces llegó la inteligencia artificial. Then artificial intelligence arrived.

Y algo hizo clic. And something clicked.

No porque fuera una tendencia. Not because it was a trend.

Sino porque, por primera vez, encontré una tecnología que podía moverse casi a la misma velocidad que mi mente. But because, for the first time, I found a technology that could move at almost the same speed as my mind.

Empecé por algo muy simple: I started with something very simple:

Automatizar todo lo que odiaba hacer. Automating everything I hated doing.

Procesos repetitivos. Organización. Investigación. Seguimientos. Tareas operativas que consumían tiempo, pero que no necesariamente requerían mi atención. Repetitive processes. Organization. Research. Follow-ups. Operational tasks that consumed time but didn't necessarily require my attention.

Primero recuperé horas. First I got back hours.

Después, días enteros cada mes. Then, entire days every month.

Luego empecé a utilizar IA no solamente para automatizar trabajo, sino para pensar mejor, tomar decisiones más rápido y aumentar la capacidad de mis empresas. Then I started using AI not just to automate work, but to think better, make decisions faster, and increase the capacity of my companies.

Mis márgenes mejoraron. My margins improved.

Mi velocidad aumentó. My speed increased.

Mi manera de operar cambió. The way I operate changed.

Hoy, incluso mi asistente principal es un agente de inteligencia artificial llamado Bulma, diseñado para ayudarme a mantener orden y contexto a través de distintas áreas de mi operación. Today, even my main assistant is an AI agent named Bulma, designed to help me keep order and context across the different areas of my operation.

Pero usar IA dentro de negocios reales también me enseñó algo importante: But using AI inside real businesses also taught me something important:

La IA por sí sola no transforma un negocio. AI on its own doesn't transform a business.

Una demo interesante no es una estrategia. An interesting demo is not a strategy.

Un prompt no es un sistema. A prompt is not a system.

Y utilizar ChatGPT no convierte automáticamente a una empresa en una compañía impulsada por inteligencia artificial. And using ChatGPT doesn't automatically turn a company into an AI-driven company.

La verdadera oportunidad aparece cuando la IA entra en los lugares donde el negocio realmente funciona: The real opportunity shows up when AI enters the places where the business actually runs:

Operaciones, marketing, decisiones, sistemas, productividad y ejecución. Operations, marketing, decisions, systems, productivity, and execution.

Por eso no me interesa posicionarme como alguien que estudia inteligencia artificial desde afuera. That's why I'm not interested in positioning myself as someone who studies artificial intelligence from the outside.

Prefiero utilizarla desde adentro. I'd rather use it from the inside.

Construyendo. Building.

Midiendo. Measuring.

Experimentando. Experimenting.

Rompiendo cosas. Breaking things.

Descubriendo qué funciona, qué no funciona y qué realmente genera leverage. Finding out what works, what doesn't, and what actually generates leverage.

Hoy, a través de Zero Seven Nine, opero un portafolio de empresas donde la inteligencia artificial funciona como una capa de leverage sobre negocios reales: una agencia de marketing, una consultora de marketing y dirección creativa, marcas de ecommerce y un portafolio de medios digitales. Today, through Zero Seven Nine, I run a portfolio of companies where artificial intelligence works as a layer of leverage on top of real businesses: a marketing agency, a marketing and creative direction consultancy, ecommerce brands, and a digital media portfolio.

Mi filosofía es simple: My philosophy is simple:

Menos demos de IA. Más negocios operados con IA. Fewer AI demos. More businesses operated with AI.

Porque si una implementación no mejora el tiempo, el margen, la velocidad, la calidad de las decisiones o la capacidad de una empresa, probablemente todavía no es una transformación. Because if an implementation doesn't improve time, margin, speed, decision quality, or a company's capacity, it's probably not a transformation yet.

Es solamente tecnología interesante. It's just interesting technology.

Después de años construyendo negocios, cada vez estoy más convencido de que el futuro no pertenece necesariamente a la persona que más sabe de inteligencia artificial. After years of building businesses, I'm more convinced than ever that the future doesn't necessarily belong to the person who knows the most about artificial intelligence.

Pertenece a quien mejor sabe convertirla en leverage. It belongs to whoever knows best how to turn it into leverage.

Para mí, la IA nunca fue la identidad. For me, AI was never the identity.

Es la herramienta. It's the tool.

Mi identidad sigue siendo la misma que empezó a formarse cuando tenía 14 años: My identity is still the same one that started forming when I was 14:

Soy un constructor obsesionado con convertir ideas en cosas reales. I'm a builder obsessed with turning ideas into real things.

La diferencia es que ahora puedo hacerlo más rápido, más seguido y con mucha menos fricción. The difference is that now I can do it faster, more often, and with much less friction.

Construyo primero. Comparto después. I build first. I share later.
